This little house is so adorable! It feels like an authentic Japanese house. We got welcomed with a matcha making tea ceremony which was so lovely and delicious. The outdoor bath is very nice and amazing in the cold, since the bath becomes so hot. There is a kitchen with no things to cook with but cutlery, microwave, fridge, toaster etc. this place is a 10/10 definitely recommend

Excellent place to stay in Kyoto. The staff were very helpful and enthusiastic in introducing us Kyoto. Quality of accommodation is very high, we got a taste of Japan living. Location was fantastic, walking distance shijo. Less than 10 mins walk to a lot of great restaurants for dinner. Highly recommend. Will stay again!

This was our first experience staying at a ryokan. We have 5 people and really enjoyed it! First, the house was very unique. It was 133 years old but very well preserved. The house was very functional. We has a spacious dining room/living room area and also 2 bathrooms - one upstairs and one downstairs. Upstairs one bedrooms has two single beds and then in a separate bedroom we had 3 beds on the tatami. The beddings and beds were very comfortable and the rooms were super quiet as the house is located in a private alley way.The host was wonderful! We received excellent breakfast service every morning with beautiful presentations. Also on the first morning we got a private tea ceremony from the host - absolutely a great experience, especially brushing the matcha tea for our kids :) We would love to stay at this ryokan again if we return to Kyoto. Highly recommend it!
