Great location. You only need to walk 3min from Kyoto station. Very helpful staff. The room is spacious and well maintained. The AC is quiet and comfortable, as well as the room. Very well trained employees. Maybe the only nitpick is the king bed was two double beds pushed together. And the price is reasonable.
Across the street from Kyoto Station, a modern luxury hotel. Escalator to the lobby/registration area. A warm greeting and bow immediately upon staff seeing you. Subdued lighting. A high tech sign in machine that verifies your passport, registration information and issues your room key... our first exposure to this technology. Standing lamps are a major decorating style throughout the hotel. Our room had some unexpected features. A sink behind the toilet with a towel but no soap - a questionable amenity in a very tight space. A window from the bath/shower room into the sleeping area. Nice, clean room which was very comfortable. We enjoyed 3 nites here. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of offerings. Sake, soft serve Ice cream as well as ice cream and Gelato. Lots of eateries and shopping at the Kyoto Station and adjoining buildings which are like malls with many different stores on each floor/level. Warm, quiet hotel so close to local points of interests. A few blocks to the Kyoto Tower. A great stay.
Overall: A Conveniently Located Hotel with Some Trade-Offs Location: Excellent — right next to the main train station with easy access to the broader transport network. Rooms: The building shows its age and the rooms are quite small, though reasonable by Japan standards. Service: Could be improved. Housekeeping is only provided every 3 days, and bathroom amenities are not stocked in-room, with the hotel citing sustainability as the reason. A good option for convenience, but be prepared for a few service limitations
