We had a wonderful stay at Kyoto Machiya Zeniyacho. The house is beautifully traditional, perfectly combining charm and comfort. The welcome was exceptional. Yukio was incredibly kind and always ready to help with anything we needed. The tea ceremony was warm, engaging, and very interesting, giving us a lovely glimpse into Japanese culture. We were traveling with our two young children and felt completely at home. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kyoto!
We had the most incredible stay; we were two families who booked both apartments side by side. Loved the location, easy walk to the 7 Eleven, lots of shops and the train station an easy 15-minute walk with our suitcases to head onto Tokyo. The greeting and welcoming ceremony was such a lovely touch, a little gift of hand warmers and a gift for the children was so kind. The apartments had everything you needed to enjoy your stay and experience a gorgeous piece of traditional Japanese.
Staff was very helpful and accommodating. The Machiya Japanese townhouse was beautiful. So many things to appreciate during our stay, including the private onsens, tatami floors, and complementary matcha and beverages in the fridge. A blissful experience; my wife and I highly recommend it if you’re in Kyoto.
