Kyu Karuizawa Hotel Otowa No Mori

Old school hotel where you feel like a king with super polite staff trying to help you in any way possible. The decoration of the hotel is very western traditional and also very fine and elegant. Breakfast has a very Austrian feel with Mozart/Beethoven and Bach music accompanying your every bite. The food itself in the restaurant is delicious - I actually liked the preset meals that you can choose, because everything was done to perfection with utmost attention to detail. The rooms were very comfortable. Even though it was pretty cold outside we felt very warm and cozy in our rooms, probably the best in 5 accommodations we've been in Japan so far. The interior of the rooms is a bit aged, you can see this in the bathroom, but everything still pretty good and clean.

I have a pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff are , extremely polite and helpful to provide us recommendations on the neighbourhood and very kind to help us to resolve an issue with a rental car company. We were greet by Steve who can speak good English and attend to our needs at ease . The room is decent and neat . It is very close to the Main Street with lot of popular restaurants right at the doorsteps.

The location is excellent, located between the pedestrian zone and the station, both of which can be reached on foot. The courtyard is lush and green, very comfortable. The restaurant's food is delicious, and the service is also very attentive. The rooms are a bit old, but they are well-maintained and have a quaint charm.
