Kyukamura Norikura Kogen

Nice place for family. No crazy shopping around, quiet, relaxing. All staff are kind and explanined very clearly many things about hotel. I was very satisfied with service and will come with my kids again as soon as time allow.

Called in whilst doing a local walk. Typical Kyukamura Hotel set in a rural park setting. I like this government chain hotel. It's set in a less visited park than others closebye. This hotel seemed to slip past my check of finding this brand till we happened to explore the area. So this would be candidate for staying in. For anyone staying here you have a range of local hikes on well kept tracks.

There’s nothing that can make up for the way I was treated as I attempted to check in early. I had to do some work while the rest of my group hiked. I stayed in the main lobby area most of the morning and had a nice lunch in the restaurant. Around 2 pm I attempted to check in as the lobby is uncomfortably warm. I was told I could not check in until 3. I then sat and watched as the staff allowed other guests to check in. I rarely experience deliberate rudeness/racism like this. I have encountered racism here in Japan on my occasions but today was the worst experience and I live in the deep South in the US. Today they were outright misleading and deliberately set me in the wrong direction. I will not allow my programmers to book this location ever again. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
