La Bastide des Amouriers

The Bastide is a beautifully restored, large stone farmhouse (with ample parking) very near to Caumont (itself a starting point for many wonderful walks, but very well-located to explore the Luberon, northern Vaucluse, and Avignon or Aix). The rooms are large and very comfortable with large beds, excellent AC and heat, and wifi (there are only approx 5 rooms, and 2 further exterior self-catering suites). A lounge and small public kitchen (fridge and microwave) are provided for guests along with local wines. The Bastide is set within very large, beautifully landscaped grounds, characteristic of Provence, and allows for privacy, either on the terrace adjoining the house, or on the grounds. There's plenty of room to picnic, etc. A real luxury for swimmers is the very large, beautifully designed swimming pool, with ample deck to accommodate the guests, and changing room. Breakfasts include superb house made preserves, local fruits and juices, patisseries, or cooked items, lovingly prepared by Sophie. The owners, Uri and Sophie, couldn't be more delightful, congenial, or helpful. Uri can advise on almost anything you may want to see, eat, or otherwise need; and tells marvellous stories of their adventures in hospitality over the years. Their dog Lola is a joy, but also totally obedient (so if you're uncomfortable with dogs you needn't worry). We've stayed several times, in summer and off-season, and loved it here. There really isn't anything more to say, but SUPERLATIVE!

Absolutely beautiful place, hosts were so nice and friendly and have plenty of useful information about the areas around. Clean and stylish decor. You couldn’t ask for more!

I came here years ago and had a fantastic time at la bastide des amouriers. Looks like they changed owners, and mutilated the four fantastic plane trees that used to make this place charming. Too bad people don't respect trees over there. The fairy atmosphere is gone.
