La Cartuja

Excellent family run hotel that was used during my trip with Intepid. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They also speak english which was very helpful. I stayed in 3 different rooms. I found the rooms upstairs a little more updated than the rooms garden level. But it was nice being close to the garden during my first night. It gets cold at night in Quito, so I appreciate the hotel providing blankets. Breakfast was delicious as well.

The rooms were good to great.. the hotel is the old british embassy so really thick walls and quiet rooms that are very neat and tidy. The location is excellent and close to some decent eateries and the metro for access to the old town. But what really makes this place is the wonderfully staff. Big shout out to Maria, Patricio, Karla and Monica who went out of their way to help make our stay so enjoyably and all with a smile. On our final day they helped so much with phone calls when our flights were cancelled. Bumped into the owners also who helped with a local money transfer, really lovely people. We highly recommend paying the La Cartuja Hotel a vist.

Very quaint and clean hotel in a great location close to a huge park. The staff are very friendly, speak English, and they go out of their way to help their guests. Fresh breakfast every morning. I stayed here both before and after a trip with Intrepid. I felt very safe at the hotel and would definitely stay here again.
