Hidden Gem in Puerto Vallarta with spectacular views and an amazing staff. Beautifully decorated with plants everywhere. My husband and I loved the rooftop pool and stayed up there for hours looking at the ocean and eating fresh fruit. This place is quiet, clean and close enough to beach, shops and restaurants. Secret Gem We love Casa de Chayo. It’s AMAZING! Staff had our hearts even before we saw the perfect views and felt the peaceful ambiance. We are only sharing this secret because they deserve and need customers to stay open. Excellence deserves acknowledgement. If you’re afraid to book because there are no reviews, don’t be. If Michelin were to put hospitality on the map, Uber would bring you right to this door! Things to know: - [x] Serenity and class are best sellers here! - [ ] The last block is a bit of a snort; this place is Not very wheelchair accessible - [ ] The neighborhood is safe - much safer than it looks on google - [ ] There are kitchenettes, at least in our room, and a BBQ on the terrace - [ ] “Continental” breakfast is really much more, prepared by a chef who loves her craft - [ ] Service here is reminiscent of white glove cruise ships from the last century. We really feel special and pampered. - [ ] The plants are real; the pictures genuine - [ ] Mattress is excellent. Pillows acceptable. Haven’t used the air conditioning yet. Yes, there are roosters in the neighborhood. The beautiful sunrises make up for them! - [ ] If you’re looking for a place to recharge at the last minute, or to write a novel, this could be your home. There are many quiet public spaces in the building - [ ] They’ve been amazing about my dietary restrictions. Celiac, low FODMAP, not a problem here! - [ ] We are in the heart of old Mexico. Beach is a few short blocks; walk to the Malecon or Romantic district - [ ] Darn! Now the secret is out and we have to book for next year before it’s gone!

Casa de Chayo was fantastic in every way. The staff are friendly and attentive, in a home away from home type of way. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we felt safe, welcomed and charmed. The property itself is not done justice by the pictures, it has to be seen in person to be truly appreciated. It’s located centrally at the base of Viejo Vallarta, just a short walk down the hill to an awesome restaurant, Baracuda (where you can find the best fish tacos while watching the waves crash) and all sorts of other bars, shops and restaurants. It’s about a ten minute walk to Playa de Los Muertos. Rooms are spacious and clean. There’s a wine cellar in the basement and terraces on each floor where you can relax and watch the sunset or cook with friends. They also serve a continental breakfast, which is way better than what you’d expect. Essentially, whatever you want, they’ll make it and it’s free. We will definitely be back!
