La Foresteria Del Castello

We really enjoyed this place and it was hard to leave aftwr a few days! It’s a brand new b&b on top of a winery and vineyards all around. The views are spectacular. Millie knows all the good restaurants around (Genarro di Pace - wow!) and is great with communication. It’s a huge place with a few rooms, so if you’re with a group of friends or family, then you got the whole place to yourself! Tip: rent a bike and go to La Morra and the Barollo region!

Not a satisfactory experience at all and I'm sorry to say this because the place is nice and considering that it is classified as a 4 star hotel, the expectations were rightly of a certain type. That said, the fact remains that regardless of classification, time and money are not well spent. Apart from the initial welcome and also the availability on the telephone, when we arrived in the room we were quite disappointed by the poor general cleanliness. There was dust everywhere, in the bathroom we found a dirty towel, the soap was almost finished... even a pillow with a huge yellow stain... a spa bathrobe with shorter sleeves and a used handkerchief in the pocket (it had been put in the wash with the whole handkerchief) and I won't dwell on the rest... and the astonishing thing is the arrogance of the staff towards our complaints, when we pointed it out to them they treated us as if they were trifles and things of little importance and passing the blame on each other. Disposable tableware was not used in the spa, as proper hygiene would require, but the herbal teas were served in cups which were then hand washed by an operator. I'm sorry because the castle is a really beautiful place, very suggestive, but the management is really poor and there's no sign of any intention to improve. The next day, when we left the facility, we weren't even asked if we had enjoyed the experience.
