This resort is completely misleading in its advertising. The website and online promotions boast sea views, a beautiful pool, and luxurious hot tubs — none of which matched reality. The pool was freezing cold, tucked away between buildings with absolutely no view. The hot tub wasn’t even switched on when we arrived, making it unusable. We chased this several times, on the last day of our stay it was finally warming up. We specifically booked this place for a hot tub and sea views, and got neither. Our room overlooked a noisy street, and not a single part of the hotel offered any sea views. They are currently building a new resort nearby, which does have impressive views, but instead of proper hot tubs, it only has cheap, inflatable lazy spas — a far cry from the “luxury” they promote. The shower in our room was also lukewarm. And a dirty used towel was left in our room on arrival. When we raised our concerns, the staff showed little interest in helping. We were offered an upgrade to a room in the unfinished new hotel, but they demanded a hefty extra fee, refusing to offer any reasonable solution despite the false advertising. Overall, this was a massive disappointment. Avoid if you’re expecting anything close to what they advertise.

We booked the Honeymoon Hot Tub Caldera View Room and were given a lower-category Junior Suite instead — clearly listed as such on their own website and almost half the price. When we raised the issue, the hotel staff denied the mistake and offered no solution. The staff act like they don’t no nothing and act really surprised. We are so sad we haven’t checked the reviews before booking. This hotel is a huge scam. We spent the first two days of our short trip trying to get help, and only received a vague response on day three, saying that they will not offer us any assistance or money back. Breakfast was also misleading — selected during booking but charged extra on arrival without clear notice. We ended up not staying in the room they gave us, but were still charged full price and tourist tax. The hotel refused any refund or proper communication. Overall, this was a dishonest and unprofessional experience. I would not recommend La Maltese Estate Santorini to anyone looking for a relaxing or trustworthy stay. A dark cave with barely a view and a hot tub stuck in the corner with no view at all. Nothing like the photos. When we asked why the room is different, they told us: “Rooms vary slightly, but they are all similar.” No — they are NOT similar. If you sell a certain layout and vibe, you have to deliver that exact product. Otherwise it’s just a bait-and-switch scam. Also, they tried to charge us extra for breakfast, even though it looked included when we booked. Their excuse? “It was selected but not part of the rate.” That’s just shady, especially at these prices. Staff pretended everything was normal, acted cold when questioned, and just told us to take it or leave it. If you’re expecting luxury and honesty — this is not the place. It’s a 5-star view with 2-star ethics.
