La Pasion Colonial Hotel Boutique By Bunik

I'm not into fancy resorts, when I stay somewhere, I want to be in the area. This hotel was in a very walkable part of PdC. Opposite the hotel is an open area, and we had fortunately timed our stay with the anniversary event for the town which meant we had free live, local entertainment on our doorstep! The beach is also near by, but unfortunately, they are currently experiencing high sea weed in the area so the beaches were a no go. Fortunately, we had a car to explore cenotes etc, and we were also able to park our rental in the car park below which has a garage door. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed relaxing in the pools at the end of the day, and the pool on the roof also has a friendly bar man. There are also spots you can sit in and read/relax throughout the hotel. Came with my husband and in-laws. We all really enjoyed and slept really well. I liked the firmness of the bed, my father in-law found it to be a little too firm after a few days though. Shower pressure good, AC cool. A lovely boutique hotel and we would stay here again! PS. Next door has delicious pastor tacos for 25MEX each, and Sunday they were 2 for 1 (not sure about other days).

Chose the La Pasion as our base camp for our 10 day trip to the "Myan Rivera" gald to have chosen Playa del Carmen over Tulum or Cancun. The hotel is right off the town square. It is pretty lively weekend evenings and a few kids were playing the xylophone untill the wee hours. Room was just fine they cleaned daily, replaced towels daily and bed linens every 3 days. Parking for our rental car was included.. it is a few blocks off 5th and fairly quiet most evenings. A couple blocks from Walmart made an easy and inexpensive solution for water, sunscreen, gifts, and snacks no problem.

STEALING MONEY FROM THE SAFE!!!!! Be very careful!!! They stole money on the 2nd day of living there right from the safe. We went to the police, unfortunately no results. All managers and the owner are in charge of this crime. All of them do it regularly and lie that it’s impossible to happen. But the police told us that with this hotel it’s a typical situation. Management was rude and disrespectful. Blamed us on going to police and lying. Furniture is in bad condition. Breakfast is disgusting. There was one day no electricity. First day of arrival, AC didn’t work in the room 711. bed sheets are dirty and with holes! WIFI is very poor and not stable. Stinks in a washroom. Water in the shower is for 1 person only, then it is cold! NEVER CHOOSE THIS PLACE TO STAY! AVOID
