La Posada del Marques

It was an absolute disaster. On the same day we would arrive to the hotel, while on a cala, with barely any data/signal at 17:52, 1hour before they would leave reception (19h), I received a message from them saying that they didn’t had the superior suite we had booked. Pushing us to chose one of the 3 options they sent over whatsapp the last moment - 3 videos that would not download by the time we would be able to get out of that cala and before they would leave reception. Exactly what someone wants on vacation, last minute unpleasant surprises, bringing down the mood and making waste time… I told them I agreed to the superior suite with view to the valley we had booked, nothing more nothing less - ending the conversation. We arrived to the hotel around 22h, we entered the room and… no views, a fridge that was unplugged, and a shower that would not work… a Superior Suite… Someone came instantly to repair the shower, that was a positive aspect at least. The day after we found a dirty hand towel with female polish on it, when they charge (cannot remember but, approx 20-30 eur) if a customer damages bedding/towels to to find out, they put these back to customers… We went to front office, to check out, and by then they had already drafted the compensation - a fair one. They apologised very politely and after forwarding my bank account for the compensation, we left. After some days, I received a transference with 35 EUR less than what they had offered as compensation. I followed up to get it refunded back, but since June 12 they stopped replying to my emails or WhatsApp… I am very surprised with the behaviour of the management, I would have never expected this from such place. I gave them some buffer to come back, apologise and transfer the remaining amount, but nothing to date 21 July.

I wish they kept the beautiful decor and antique look, it's so sad all these gorgeous soulful objects you can see from old photos are shoved in a corner now and they have put these generic stock images everywhere. Now it looks like a hostel although its premium prices. The energy feels very off, it's not for people who want soul and authenticity. Too bad the location is great and the person was sweet but doesn't seem to have a feeling of how to run things. It's very clean. Anyway, we left early.

Nice view, and friendly staff (when they were ariund) but the place had no soul or heart at all. It seems like in an attempt to "Modernize" the owners made the place into what can only be described as a "stock Air BnB". Just utterly tasteless decorations, and cheap perfume. They really turned a beautiful old chateau into a lifeless overpriced hotel. We left a day early because it just felt strange to stay in such a place. Disappointed that we chose this hotel
