La Prometida is, without a doubt, one of the most thoughtfully designed and welcoming places I’ve ever stayed. Tucked away in the lush greenery of Puerto Viejo, this boutique hotel is pure magic from the moment you arrive. Every corner of the property shows an incredible attention to detail — from the serene, stylish rooms to the beautifully maintained grounds. The breakfast each morning was such a treat: fresh, flavorful, and always paired with a unique juice that changed daily as well as coffee delivered to the room each morning — a small detail that made a big impression. What really sets La Prometida apart, though, is the warmth and hospitality of Francisco, Selva, and Andrea. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home, offering thoughtful local recommendations and taking the time to sit and chat with us like old friends. You can tell they’ve poured their hearts into creating not just a hotel, but a true sanctuary. If you're headed to Puerto Viejo and want an experience that feels personal, curated, and quietly luxurious, this is the place. We left feeling rested, inspired, and already dreaming about coming back.
Possibly the best place we’ve ever stayed anywhere! Everything felt so luxurious and thoughtful, but still down to earth. The people there go above and beyond to make you feel at home and help you get the most out of your stay in Puerto Viejo. Cannot recommend enough.
La Prometida exceeded all my expectations. The property is absolutely beautiful, with a peaceful atmosphere and thoughtful touches throughout. We stayed in House Marea (House 2), which was spotless, stylish, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Each morning, we were greeted with tea on our front porch — such a lovely and personal touch. The breakfast was another highlight. The menu offered a variety of delicious options, and I tried something new every day — every single meal was fresh and flavorful. Breakfast also came with fresh juice or a smoothie, and rich, delicious coffee that truly started the day off right. Francisco and Selva were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They shared great recommendations for local restaurants, beaches, and things to do around Puerto Viejo. Their kindness really elevated our experience. La Prometida’s location couldn’t be better — just a short 5-minute walk to the beach and about 20 minutes to walk into town. It’s close enough to everything yet still feels like a serene escape. I would highly recommend staying at La Prometida. It’s a perfect blend of comfort, charm, and authenticity.
