La Quinta by Wyndham Remarkables Park Queenstown

Overall, our stay for three nights here was very satisfactory: hotel facilities well kept, rooms spacious and clean, the staff friendly and helpful. Above all, great value for money beats every nearby accommodations. Upsides: close to the airport, easy access to restaurants and shops, stunning views of The Remarkables Downsides: quite a drive to the central Queenstown area, limited space for car park. I would definitely come back and recommend to others.

We stayed at La Quinta The rooms were in good condition and the view is nice. It is close to the airport too. However we faced several issues - on the first day the cleaning staff did not change our towels which had us ask for extra towels in a small room with both dirty and clean towels occupying some space in a small room. Parking is a massive issue - if you arrive at the hotel after 8 pm there is likely no chance you will get parking. Especially for international travellers with limited public transport around this is a massive issue as you can’t get to the city from the hotel easily. The coffee downstairs is paid coffee not complimentary even though it’s a pod machine coffee and you pay $5 for it. We then asked staff if we could extend one of the rooms for just an hour they were very unaccommodating. All in all good if you’re close to the airport and don’t mind working away in the public car park and paying for parking but service was poor. Not to mention that before your stay they will spam you with emails, WhatsApp and text messages which while starts of as a great experience ends up being rather annoying.

Looks great on the website set against the remarkables, but reality is a giant beam across your window and views of the carpark. Had good room facilities with kitchenette, and washer/dryer. However splatter stains on the wall behind the toilet were very gross. The bed had multiple long black hairs strewn through it, and the decorative cushions had globs of food stuck to it. Plus generally just not cleaned well. The staff did change all the bedding but that was all they were willing to do. Parking is impossible unless you are early. So will need to download an app and load money onto that. Location suited us close to airport and between Queenstown and Arrowtown, as long as you have a car. Would not stay again.
