Excellent Stay at La Roche Hotel, Erbil I had a very pleasant stay at La Roche Hotel. The location is excellent, conveniently situated near several markets and shopping malls, making it easy to access everything I needed. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with a lovely view of the backyard. The bathroom was also spotless and in great condition. A special mention goes to the staff, who were always welcoming with genuine smiles, making the check-in and check-out process smooth and hassle-free. The breakfast was enjoyable, offering a good variety of items to suit different tastes. For the price, the hotel definitely offers great value for money. I also appreciated the free parking available on site. Although I didn’t get the chance to use it, the gym’s availability is a nice bonus for guests looking to stay active during their visit. Overall, I would highly recommend La Roche Hotel for anyone visiting Erbil.
I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel. At checkout, I was suddenly told I needed to pay an additional $113 — not for any extra service I used, but because they made a mistake and forgot to charge it at check-in. Instead of owning the error and offering a proper resolution or at least an apology, they simply demanded payment as if it was my fault. This kind of unprofessional handling of billing is unacceptable, especially when guests are preparing to leave and are put on the spot. It left a bad impression at the end of my stay and completely overshadowed any positives about the hotel. I won’t be returning, and I can’t recommend this place to anyone who expects basic accountability and customer service.
The night reception was very rude and seemed to be upset with our presence. But the housekeeping staff were very polite. In front of the hotel door, when I saw my family after 4 years, the security guard in front of the hotel door was very rude to us because we were taking pictures outside the hotel and told us to delete the picture. They are not yet ready to deal with tourists!😳
