The newly refurbished La Reserve is really a 5 star hotel located near to the Casino in Knokke Heist. Went to stay there recently and the reception was so kind to upgrade us to a junior suite with a terrace overlooking the lake. The room is modern and clean but I feel that they could do better with the toiletries such as providing cotton pads and also a platter of fruits or something to munch on when you check in. We were given a free welcome drink at the bar which you can choose between a glass of champagne or ice tea. The bar is really beautiful but the service is really lacking. There's only one staff at the bar and we waited for more than 20 mins before we were served our champagne. I think there's a lack of training as well. Parking is not free. It's very common here in Belgium that hotel guests need to pay for parking as well. The gym is really good. It has all the equipments I need. The pool, sauna and Hamman is beautifully renovated. Good to have these facilities especially during bad weather days if you can't access the beach. Access to the beach is 5 mins walk which is very near. The breakfast is already very good and lots of choices. I will definitely come back to stay.

One complaint: hotel guests should -always- receive restaurant reservation priority. We were turned down for lunch and dinner because they were fully booked, which is unacceptable. Other than that, amazing hotel, food and service.

The hotel has beautiful and well-maintained facilities, but unfortunately, that doesn’t make up for the terrible service — especially at the bar. The staff were clearly untrained, unprofessional, and completely unprepared to serve a high-end clientele. There was a lack of courtesy, attention, and basic efficiency. It was honestly one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had in a place that presents itself as luxurious. Another unbelievable issue was being told that guests are not allowed to use the pool or spa after checkout. I have never seen this in any hotel — not even in far more luxurious international properties. This policy is completely disconnected from the standards expected at this level and shows a clear failure in guest experience management. I definitely won’t return and would not recommend this hotel.
