La Samanna A Belmond Hotel

Perfection. No Notes. My sister found La Samanna for our annual family trip, and I am forever grateful to her because this is the most special place that I was so sad to leave. We stayed in a villa and had the joy of having Max as our concierge who was INCREDIBLE! He was there for anything we needed, always surprised us with snacks, desserts, and just popping over to see how our stay was going. His recommendations for restaurants and activities were spectacular. To put it in short: we loved Max and the trip would not have been the same without him. This place shines because of its hospitality and the genuine kindness and warmth of everyone who works here! From Gigi and Lorriane at breakfast each morning (truly the best breakfast of my life for 5 days) to Arthur, Allen, Charles, and so many others who knew our names and made our trip so special. Outside of the people, the beach, the ocean (so clear! So perfect!) the food & drinks, the comfortable beds and villas, and our little iguana friends that came to visit us at the pool - it all added up to the most relaxing and wonderful vacation I've maybe ever had. BRB typing this up makes me want to book again. Don't hesitate to come here, you will not be disappointed!

We had the most magical stay for our anniversary at La Samanna. The food, location, and amenities were incredible, but it was really the staff and service that made us feel at home. The people who really made an impression were Veronica, who greeted us with the warmest smile upon our arrival and always made sure things were going well; Romel who made every moment at Laplaj lovely and memorable; and Axel—the best beach service and wine recommendations! We felt totally taken care of during our short, but sweet visit. Can’t wait to return.

Herbert and the Sommelier (we do not recall him name) at L'oursin took care of our party of four. They were knowledgeable and accommodating. The food and desserts are amazing, and the wine list is lovely. This restaurant is tucked away in a quiet resort and is beautifully situated on the water where the waves are audible while dining. We will be back! Cheers. 🩵
