La Valencia Hotel

La Valencia Hotel is nothing short of magical. Perfectly perched right on the bay, the views from my room were absolutely breathtaking. The staff was phenomenal—clearly well-trained and truly dedicated to making my stay perfect. They handled every (and I mean every) crazy request I had with a smile. There was a stunning wedding happening right outside my window during my visit, and the entire atmosphere felt straight out of a movie. The food? Top-notch—every bite was memorable. If you're looking for a luxurious getaway with unbeatable scenery and five-star service, this is the place. Can't wait to come back!

La Valencia delivers. The location is ultra-walkable to downtown La Jolla, shopping, dining, and scenic walk to the cove. We booked an ocean-view suite sight unseen. Upon check-in, we were surprised there was no balcony and I would call our view "parking/rooftop view with ocean behind and to the far right"...but.... here is the good stuff. The Cove is a nice walk away down on-property stairs and an access controlled street gate. A huge park is between the hotel and the ocean. It is a nice place to walk and check out the sea lions. Lots of restaurants, hair salons, shopping, ice cream, and dining within a close walk. We went to the hotel table seating room for drinks and small bites. Had a few excellent rum runners and also got shrimp cocktail, hummus, and charcuterie. All excellent. Room was ready over an hour early which was nice. We had to check out super early 04:30 and valet parked our car out front...super convenient and much appreciated. Suite: decent, comfy, single sink and single restroom, no balcony, oceanview technically correct but not an amazing view. Room could have been cleaner. Shoes stuck to the floor in some spots. Clean and comfy bed. Dining/drinks: 10 out of 10. Fun date location with the wife. Got to chill and unwind with great drinks and bites. Location: crazy good. Service: great

For the price of this hotel, the quality of the room is not good. Our room had opaque frosted windows because the room directly faced another building and people would be able to see inside. With that said we eventually needed to open the windows for fresh air as our room smelled and felt musty. Thus, people could see directly into our room. At night, the lights directly outside kept us awake – bright neon type lights shining directly towards our windows. The blackout roller curtains didn't do much to help. The bathroom and shower were not great, and there was a lot of questionable scum and green rust on the showerhead and bathroom fixtures. Was not a luxurious experience at all. Also, no refrigerator in the room – just a cooler only for drinks at the most. And I don't think the rooms are properly vacuumed. Found a pill on the floor from a previous guest. Stressful stay overall. Many other wonderful hotels in the area.
