La Vieille Demeure

Staying at this cottage was an absolute dream from start to finish! Tucked away in a peaceful and picturesque setting, the cottage offered the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It was private, serene, and surrounded by nature—an ideal retreat that felt like a home away from home. The cottage itself was immaculate, cozy, and beautifully furnished with a charming rustic elegance. Every corner was thoughtfully designed and equipped with everything we could possibly need—and more! From the comfy beds and plush blankets to the fully stocked kitchen and delightful little touches, it was clear the hosts poured their hearts into making this space special. Waking up to birdsong, enjoying coffee on the porch, and ending the day with a cozy fire—it was a peaceful rhythm I never wanted to leave. The host was incredibly gracious, welcoming, and responsive, making sure our stay was seamless and stress-free. This place truly has a magical quality. Whether you're looking for a romantic weekend, a quiet solo escape, or a base for local adventures, this cottage is a perfect choice. I can’t recommend it highly enough and can’t wait to come back. A hidden gem that deserves every bit of praise!

This is lovely place to stay if looking for some piece and relaxation. It’s a converted priory from the 16th (?) century that had been extended and modified into a quirky and cool place to stay. I’m not sure if I’d call this a Hotel or a B&B as it doesn’t fit that category. There is a choice of rooms ranging from small, to suites to a gite. All surround and overlook a little courtyard that extends to another courtyard where there is a small dipping pool. Our choice was a spacious (huge)suite with patio doors onto a lovely patio/balcony and a large en-suite. Everything is tastefully decorated. We spent plenty of time on the balcony particularly in the early evening or mornings before setting off for the day or the evening. Access to the kitchen 24/7 should you need anything. Breakfast is served in a small dining area with fresh bread, and home made orange marmalade. Breakfast is competitively priced with surrounding area, and recommended as there isn’t a lot of choice in the immediate area. Silvia and Gilles were wonderful hosts. There when you needed them and never bothered you otherwise. Full of local tips and ideas. I wonder if they realise what an idyllic home and life they have created for themselves. Location wise, this is in a quiet street in Torreilles. There is limited parking outside but a free car park about 5mins walk away. The carpark is safe and monitored by cameras. Torreilles is a safe town so no need to worry about your vehicle. The Vieille Demeure is less than 5nins walk to the local square where you can get a drink of a coffee, and the shops and restaurants. It’s also about 10mins for the beach, where there are a number of nice beach clubs and ample free parking. Perpignan is 25mins drive away and the beautiful Collioure about 40mins away.

Amazing place to stay at. The owners are very nice and friendly, service is fantastic, and it’s so beautiful there. The building is from the 17th century, which makes it even better to be at. Rooms are also super nice. There’s a cute living room for all the guests, with a large TV. The breakfast is fabulous, with amazing French culinary.
