Lovely piece of luxury nestled in the foothills around Lake Akan. This resort hotel has a stream running through it. Our beautiful room had a view of the lush green forest around it. The onsen facilities are top notch and the open air bath was refreshing in the early summer. If you didn’t feel like going to the public bath, each room has its own hot spring water piped in or you could use one of the private baths available. Amenities abound and the modern yukata were very comfortable.Complimentary inari sushi and edamame, ice cream and ramen in the evening. Breakfast was of course top notch.

Phenomenal facilities, truly a once in a lifetime experience. Very quaint place, great for a super relaxing getaway with terrific views and nature immersion. Staff was very nice, but English was an issue which lead to some miscommunication. Food really didn't meet basic expectations, and I would recommend just staying away from it completely - especially for vegetarians. "Western" breakfast includes mostly dishes not typically served at breakfast (such as lasagna), and not satisfying for our taste. We also found dinner cometely untouchable (and were still charged a hefty price for it). There are a few restaurants and convenience stores 10 minutes away (by car), so definitely manageable and preferable. Also quite a few nice nature spots around

Lovely resort with great private and public onsen. We visited mid April so there were few people and private onsen was always available. Room had a gorgeous river view (make sure you book room accordingly!) and had it’s own 1 person onsen. We stayed 4 nights including breakfast and dinner. The food was great and since we stayed 4 nights it was always different. My only complaint would be the plastic cups for juice and coffee/tea for breakfast. This is a five star resort so rather surprising. Staff was friendly. Would definitely return.
