I had such a relaxing stay — the bed was cozy, the hot springs were amazing, and the staff were so nice. I also picked up a t-shirt with a cute deer design — it’s a great little keepsake. I appreciate all hotel staffs.
Upon our 6 PM arrival, we were informed that both the Japanese and French restaurants were fully booked for the evening. Given the hotel's remote location, with the nearest alternative dining options 30-40 minutes away by car, advance notice of restaurant availability should be standard practice. This left us without dinner options, though we were grateful for the complimentary late-night ramen service at 10:30 PM (only half portion though). Learning from this experience, we reserved the French restaurant for the following evening. The restaurant offers only a fixed 7-course menu at approximately ¥11,000 per person, with no à la carte options available. Unfortunately, the dining experience was very disappointing. Five of the seven courses were served cold, including the beef fillet. Most dishes seemed pre-cooked, requiring minimal kitchen preparation. For the price point and tiny portion, the meal represented poor value that unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend at all. Perhaps the Japanese restaurant serve better food? On a positive note, the rooms are notably spacious and comfortable, while the onsen facilities provide an excellent relaxation experience. The staff consistently demonstrated politeness and friendliness throughout our stay, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. For a hotel situated in such an isolated location with limited nearby dining alternatives, ensuring restaurant availability for all guests should be a priority. More importantly, significant improvements to food quality would greatly enhance the overall guest experience.
This must be the worst place I have ever stayed in. Not just worst in terms of value for money but worst ever. It's comically bad on all fronts. No housekeeping. At all.. They don't even make your bed. Food is crazy expensive and mediocre. For the dinner I paid more that a Michelin star restaurant in Tokyo. Dinner is a set meny and there is no alternative any where in the village. None. So you are hostage to the hotel. No laundry service at all. As in no hotel service and no coin machine. And asking the hotel for a solution in an emergency, forget it. I tried and no dice. The customer is always right? Not in this place. Here the customer is a burden to the hotel guests and we should apologize for even being here.
