La Vista Fuji Kawaguchiko

What a resort! The mountain views and starry nights are absolutely magical. The food is delicious, with great value for money, and the whole place has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Everyone felt like family—except for one senior lady at reception who wasn’t as friendly. But the elderly gentleman at the resort truly made our stay unforgettable. Though his English is limited, his kindness, helpful nature, and genuine hospitality spoke louder than words. He’s the heart of this place, and his warmth left a lasting impression on us. We absolutely loved our time here.

Due wholly to my scheduling & device issues, I could not advise of the time of my anticipated arrival; so instead of requesting the shuttle, I took the bus from the train station then walked the last 2/3 mile. However, the concierge "Steven" was fantastic. I speak no Japanese and the young lady who checked me in requested his assistance when my pocket translator was insufficient. From then on, he snapped to attention and came to assist/chat every time that I came into the lobby or saw him in the halls. He advised me of where I could rent a bicycle; and he completed my shipping labels, in Japanese, to ensure my luggage would arrive early at my Osaka hotel. Beyond Steven's service, the hotel was fantastic. The view of Mt Fuji & the lake is unparalleled, especially when watching as the first rays of sunlight kiss them from one's own in-room outdoor onsen. I am too large for the outdoor baths to comfortably accommodate me; but the sauna, and the indoor cold & hot baths were amazing. And it is rare for me to dine, and rarer for me to breakfast at hotels; but as this was a part of my first visit to Japan, I opted last-minute for both. I was not disappointed. Both menus included fare I'd not tasted before, which I've always appreciated. La Vista will absolutely be included in my next Japan visit.

We had an unforgettable stay at this hotel. The staff went above and beyond with their warm hospitality and outstanding customer service from start to finish. Our room offers breathtaking panoramic views of Mt. Fuji - truly a sight to wake up to. We especially loved the private onsens. The breakfast buffet was delicious and featured a wide variety of fresh options. Every detail was thoughtfully curated and we look forward to returning.
