The room is comfortable, with a nice view, the staff is very gentle and helpful... but what I loved the most was that this is a pet friendly hotel!!!
On the good side, service is friendly (though not very efficient), breakfast is great, it was good value and the location is good. However, there are a few annoying problems that could be addressed. First, it's crazy noisy outside (motorcycles and cars roaring through the night) so it was hard to sleep. The windows are single paned, so you hear the streets very clearly. Second, the rooms are clean and adequate but have no decor and only white harsh light - feel more like a hospital room than a place to relax. Third, there are too few elevators. I tried to use the stairs after breakfast when there were a lot of people waiting and it was very hard to find them.
I had a terrible experience staying at this hotel with one of my associates. Since I am dark-skined and my associate is caucasian, the front desk staff joked that I was the SLAVE and he the slave owner. Brazil has a terrible history of racism and elitism. I do not recommend this hotel to anybody, specially if you're dark like me. The staff is rude, speak little to no English. Institutions like the should not be in business.
