For a 20+ story hotel they do a great job providing an easy experience for a beach-oriented vacation. This hotel is very beach friendly, straight from your room out to the lagoon for a beach towel then enjoy the day. Plenty of nearby bar and grills for food, but definitely recommend taking advantage of your in room fridge, stovetop and oven for quick meals and reheating leftovers. Tap water is very clean so bring bottles and thermos with refill stations nearby. Be prepared to pay premium prices for any activities, chairs/umbrellas, and beach side food/drinks.

We stayed for a week at Hilton Waikiki’s Lagoon Tower in a 2-bedroom, 2-bath timeshare on the 3rd floor. Overall, it’s a nice property with mostly great customer service, but there were definitely some frustrating aspects that held the experience back. Pros: The room was comfortable and spacious for our family of four. The lagoon was fun at first, but our kids much preferred the short walk to the nearby cove and “real ocean,” where we even spotted sea turtles—definitely a highlight. Our kids had a blast meeting and playing with other children, which made the trip feel more social and special. Cons: The elevators were a daily struggle—we waited over 5 minutes more than once, and eventually resorted to using the scary stairwell (not ideal with two young kids). The pool was a big disappointment. Overcrowded every day, almost impossible to get a chair unless you lined up at 9am. Found out anyone on the island can buy a pool pass, which explains why it felt more like a public waterpark than a resort. The pool also closed early (6pm) and was shut down twice at 3pm due to accidents. The kids still enjoyed the slides, but the long lines and limited slide hours were frustrating. Housekeeping missed basics like shampoo, conditioner, and body wash—even after service. This was our 13-year wedding anniversary trip, and while it wasn’t ruined, we expected more for the price we paid. Great location and memories were made, but I’d think twice before staying at Lagoon Tower again unless some of these issues improve.

It’s an older building, but is in great condition. I do wish that there were ceiling fans. The dishwasher is broken, and apparently has been for a while because the dishes I pulled out of the cabinets had food particles dried on them. Maintenance came by and fixed one part of the issue but didn’t fix the wheel or the little door that holds the pod. We called about the WiFi connection and were given a number to the IT department. We called them on Saturday but when it was still not working properly on Sunday, we called again. He said someone addressed the issue and the ticket had been cleared. He also said they had called us to make sure it was working, but that wasn’t true. He then said you will hear from someone within four hours. It is now 1pm Tuesday and my husband is putting in another call to the IT department. The pool at the Tower is beautiful. There are many trees and a walkway over the water. It has three water slides and two hot tubs. The problem is the pool is only open from 9am to 6pm. Which is ridiculous! They only run one out of three slides. The hot tubs are warm, but neither of them have working jets. There are two entrances, but you can only go through one. They keep the entrance from inside the building locked. We asked about all of these access limitations and controls and were told it’s been that way since Covid. 5 years later and that answer is getting old.
