Lake Biwa Marriott Hotel

This I think is the best Marriott property I have stayed at ever. The location and the interior is excellent, it is so designed in a way that it feels like home. The hospitality at this Marriott is top notch, i have never seen staff so gracious and proud, every single staff at this location is a star. It's Japan so it's obvious that everything around would be impeccable and tidy. The entire hotel is kept in a very good state of maintenance, merchandise in place and easily accessible. The rooms are equipped with almost every essential item and amenities. They provide plenty of towels for purposes you chose in your own, toiletries are excellent, bath robes and clean wear, also for the swimming pool and good plastic bags to carry on wet clothes too. Rooms are spacious and breathable with a good outside view. The property is located at Lake Biwa which is one of the biggest lakes there and has an amazing view! The serenity of the lake and the calming effect it exudes is unmatched! And located just near the lake is beauty, real beauty Food offered at the restaurants is good and always presented with love. I only had the chance to eat at Grill and dining located at the 12 floor due to the fact that I was on a work trip and barely had all the time to visit all the restaurants. The location of this restaurant is awesome...it faces the lake and is superbly designed to cover all shades and view of the majestic location. The evening view is just heavenly with sun setting in front of you and you are sitting so cozily with your food and wine, sipping the setting rays! It also has a small shopping area consisting of all good select items that one can bring home. It's good place to shop something and remember Japan in the most affectionate manner. I had the best dessert of my trip there, it tasted heavenly and it would remain in my memory for a good time, one must not miss this when at Marriott lake Biwa, it's called Moriyama Melon and guava gateau with passion fruit sauce, it was actually recommended by the gracious lady serving at the restaurant. So 5 starts for everything there!

Great hotel for family, spacious, clean and lots of facilities for adults and children. Location: if you rent a car, it just takes minutes to a big shopping mall, convenient stores… otherwise, there’s shuttle bus brings you to nearest train station This is my first time staying in Lake Biwa, and I will definitely come back. Love their rooms, hot spring and swimming pool. Very special thanks to the lovely staff- Keiko Tanimura (谷村惠子）who helped us to book the kayak activity, she always wear a friendly smile. Her sincere gratitude is always appreciated!

Great that the hotel provided a shuttle bus service as it was a bit out of the way; would be great the shuttle bus could have stop at the mall nearby (down the road). Unfortunately our two days one night stay, it was raining and would be nice to see Lake Biwa not in gloomy conditions. We opt-ed to stay in the Japanese style room which we loved and have no regrets. The staff were friendly. We had some welcome snacks in the hotel room which were nice! Worth the stay but in more favourable weather conditions.
