A bit far from the train station but there is a free shuttle bus every 30 minutes to the hotel. The hotel itself is tall modern with spectacular view of Lake Biwa. Rooms are spacious and clean, with plenty of power outlets which is a challenge for most Japanese hotels. One usb port by the bed too. Toilet room is a bit cramped, bath is spacious. Beds comfy. Several restaurants in the hotel, we took advantage of the breakfast buffets. There are restaurants close by and a grocery store just outside. Nice walk trails along the lake shore. My only complaint was that the room service didn’t get us new tea cups or water glasses. Got new towels and beds were made but no new cups!

We stayed at Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel and absolutely loved the breathtaking view of Lake Biwa right from our room window. Waking up to the serene waters and watching the gentle ripples catch the morning light was one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel itself was spacious and modern, with a large, welcoming lobby that gave a sense of openness and calm. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed—exactly what we needed after a day of sightseeing. What really stood out was how peaceful the environment was. Being slightly outside the hustle of Kyoto but still very accessible made this stay even more perfect. If you’re looking to unwind with lakeside views in a modern setting, this hotel is an excellent choice.

Would probably not recommend given the value for money the place offered. The saving grace for the hotel is probably its view of lake Biwa. But if your room is thre opposite side then youve more than likely wasted your money. The rooms were big and clean which was a plus. But other than that there wasnt anything special about this place. We had lunch at restaurant we arrived just after 1230 but the staff were slow to rotate plates and keep the buffet full. We ended up not having dessert as there were none on the serving trays. We then decided to go to the pool to find out that it was an additional cost. We payed around £150 for the room and to find out the pool was not included in this price really put a downer on the experience.
