Lake Hill Resort & Spa

This hotel resort is one of the most interesting I have ever seen, and it clearly continues to be improved and expanded, with its owners having big plans for the future. It is well designed and thoughtfully planned, with detached villas that are bright, spacious, and equipped with useful amenities such as air conditioning, a kitchenette, a quality hairdryer, an iron, and a coffee maker. Each villa has its own private hot tub with a beautiful view of the Krkonoše Mountains, which is one of the main attractions. The main building offers a restaurant, gym, wellness area, and a very nice indoor pool. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I had no issues during my stay. However, there are several areas where the resort could improve to match its ambitions. In the villa, there was only one TV, and it lacked Android TV or any smart features, offering only Polish channels and no screen-sharing option from mobile devices. The coffee maker could come with more filters and coffee, and some additional privacy screens around the hot tubs would be welcome. The main drawback is the dinner schedule — from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. only — which causes crowds after 6:00 p.m. and leaves no option for later dining. Extending dinner service until 8:00 or ideally 9:00 p.m. would be more suitable, especially in the busy summer months. The food quality was good, but the dinner selection should be expanded, as three to four main dishes and the same number of sides is limited, and desserts lacked variety. The beverage offering was also disappointing, with small glasses, no juices or lemonades, and only two dispensers of low-quality diluted drinks. These improvements would help the resort reach the higher standard that its design and concept deserve.

The only reasons to visit Lake Hill Resort are the view and the service — but only during holidays. The swimming pool is far too small for the size of the property and the number of rooms. Much of the resort’s territory is just plain grass, with no landscaping or thoughtful design. The lakeside area could have been much better developed and maintained. Our room was dirty upon arrival, which was very disappointing. There wasn’t even an iron available in the room — something that should be standard in a resort of this level. Another major downside was the overwhelming number of children. They occupied nearly all the pool and jacuzzi space, making it difficult for other guests to enjoy the facilities. It felt more like a noisy playground than a relaxing resort. On top of that, the staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming throughout our stay. Overall, this place has potential, but it’s not being used properly. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re only coming for the view.

We stayed at Lake Hill for a special occasion, expecting a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, it turned into a major disappointment. Shortly after having breakfast at the hotel, my wife and two of our friends became seriously ill with food poisoning symptoms. The timing and circumstances left little doubt that the problem was linked to the hotel breakfast. This situation was particularly upsetting because my wife was meant to celebrate her birthday during our stay — a celebration that had to be completely cancelled due to her illness. Instead of a memorable and joyful trip, we spent the remainder of our stay dealing with a health crisis. I reported the incident to the hotel administration immediately. While they responded and assured me of an internal investigation, their overall attitude was dismissive. Despite the seriousness of what happened and the clear impact on our experience, no meaningful steps were taken to address the matter. I had expected at least a partial refund for the breakfast as a basic gesture of goodwill, but this was never offered. The hotel’s response consisted of polite excuses without any real accountability. We have stayed in many hotels and resorts over the years and have never encountered a situation like this, nor such a lack of responsibility from management. I strongly advise future guests to be extremely cautious about what they eat at this hotel. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Lake Hill and will not be returning.
