Lake Kivu Serena Hotel

Special mention to chef Joyce, she treated us very well after a little incident we had the fist night we ordered at the restaurant. She was so attentive with us, solved the issue with a very correct gesture, next morning at breakfast always making sure everything went well and at lunch she took our order personally. Management should take good care of this excellent chef, congratulations to her. The hotel in general is good, well located, nice pool, EXCELLENT BREAKFAST, rooms need to be renovated, visited this hotel 12 years ago and it hasn't improved.

This is my 4th time staying at this hotel with my family. This past weekend we stayed the longest. One of the nights we had an issue with our room but I address the issue with the manager and he was able to sort it out and move us to a new room, despite being a holiday weekend and fully booked rooms. The staff are always professional, helpful, and kind. Breakfast buffet is my kids and I favorite. Dinner buffet I wasn’t too impressed but we were able to order à la carte. They just need to update their rooms other than that will continue to stay here with my family due to the amazing care and service we get here. Thanks Leon, Fidele (in the breakfast buffet) and Patient at the reception for everything.

This is my go-to hotel EVERY time I go to Gisenyi or near it. It’s always perfect and impeccable. But this time there was a few tiny details that weren’t worked on. The food is great, location is great because it has a private beach and pool table. The only few things were that, I spent 3 days there, and on the first day everything was great but on the second day the bathroom light wasn’t working the whole time I was there. And the hotel phone is so old that some of the buttons weren’t working which means I couldn’t call about the light. Apart from that, I everything was nice I spent some time in the pool and everything went well. I recommend but those few little things need be noticed.
