The room and onsen were clean and tidy. The morning is quite delicious. Highly recommended for people who would like to stay in this area. The walk around the lake is obviously amazing experience.
Customer hospitality is excellent. Rooms are not well designed. The toilet/shower area is very cramped and the sink is next to the bed. Which means it becomes a little messy and noisy in the morning. This is the biggest disappointment. Only 1 thin pillow is provided, which is a problem for those with larger bodies. The view of the room is absolutely amazing though. The town in which this place is located is very quiet and empty, the nearest convenience store is 8km away, so a car is needed. But the hotel does have a small gift shop that has a few items. The best part of our stay is the breakfast which is probably one of the best breakfast that I have had in Japan, for many many years.. Hotel provides both fatbikes, mamachari bikes and normal mountain bikes, but they only rent it out per day for 1100 yen, which is a problem if you only need it for 1 to 2 hours. Overall, it is acceptable place to stay, for the breakfast !!
Upon entering the room, we noticed a foul smell. I told the staff member showing us the room about the smell. She passed me a bottle of fabric freshener and turned on the tap of the sink in the room for a while, and then left us. The smell didn't go away and gotten stronger by night time. I suspect the foul smell comes from the plumbing system and it is a ongoing problem. The smell was really bad! We couldn't sleep well. The staff member should have offered us a change of room, but she opted for a stop gap measure that convenient only herself. In another instance of bad service, we were 2 timings for breakfast, 7.30 am and 8.30 am. We chose 8.30 am and was only told upon entering the restaurant that the restaurant closes at 9 am. At 9 am, a staff member came around to tell us to leave as the restaurant is closed.
