2nd year in a row coming to this place and it lived up to our expectations. This year we were in a different cabin (Lavender, lodge closest to the house). The lodge was modern, clean and stocked with everything you could think of within the kitchen and bathroom. Whether you were intending to use the lodge for fishing or just a relaxing getaway it was perfect. Beds were super comfy and each person was provided with complimentary toiletries which was a nice touch. Fishing was never boring and the lake provided us with plenty of catches. Our most successful catches were 10lb - 15lb but we caught plenty of 5lb - 8lb fish alongside these ones. We also witnessed other guests catch a 20lb carp and the famous Ronnie and Reggie making a surprise rise to the surface (90lb+ sturgeons). The owners also popped by to reassure us that anything we needed to just ask. Very nice, happy people. We will be back for a 3rd time for sure! We even tried their Pizza place which is situated in their neighbouring family friendly site a 2m drive from this one where the staff at the bar were super friendly. Big compliments to the family because my family love it here.
These lodges are at a great peaceful and quiet location, the fishing was great with endless catch after catch, I did have access requirements which staff provided me with a ramp to access my cabin and went the extra mile to help where they could. This place would suit beginner anglers and kids who want to get in to fishing as the catch rate is enough to create the addiction to the sport. The facilities were clean and spotless on arrival, this fishery is a credit to the owners who were there and ready to provide help where needed and very friendly. Definitely recommend to anyone
I have visited several fishing lodges/resorts within the UK and there is no doubt that this is the BEST! Paul and Amy truly have done a wonderful job. The accommodation is superb, the fishing is incredible (a runs water but not too easy to make it monotonous), and the site itself is stunning. I will absolutely be back!
