I stayed there may be 4 or 5 night, June 2024. I did not have a reservation, but the young guy at the reception accommodated, 3 times in the row. He was very polite and customer friendly. The hotel is spectacular, the rooms very clean and comfy, the breakfast buffet very rich and yummy. This hotel is very good in Algiers.
I recently spent a weekend in Kouba and had the pleasure of staying at Lamaraz Hotels. For a short trip, I found it to be an excellent choice, and I would not hesitate to return in the future. What truly distinguished my experience was the outstanding service—particularly from the front desk manager, whose professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness were genuinely remarkable. His generosity of spirit and unwavering focus on guest satisfaction were both refreshing and deeply appreciated, especially in today’s fast-paced and often impersonal travel environment. He went out of his way to ensure that every aspect of my stay was comfortable and seamless, setting a tone of hospitality that was felt throughout the property. While the rooms are compact, they are impeccably clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully appointed to meet the needs of a solo traveler. The breakfast service also deserves special mention—fresh, varied, and presented with care, it was a delightful way to start each day. Overall, Lamaraz represents excellent value and delivers a level of service that elevates the entire experience. I look forward to returning on future visits to Kouba.
Apparently, this is a government run hotel. My room was missing a shower head, yes, shower head, and somehow the hotel did not respond when I told them the issue (I think they were not able to find one). A lot of fixtures were loose and worn down in the room like towel rack. The bathtub was also a Jacuzzi tub, but it turned on itself but I was not able to shut it down, the jets were rusty. So my shower experience was like opening a garden hose with the kiddo floor fountains spraying on my legs. To be honest, I think they tried their best. The country is newly open to tourism so feels like they don’t know what they are doing at times. Breakfast was included so I was able to try Algerian food. Internet is.. not the best like rest of the country. Staffs are very friendly regardless, they tried their best to accommodate. So the 3 stars are totally for them, minus 2 stars cause I think regardless how modern the room looked, I feel like the room was constructed with sub par made in China material, which do not justify the price of the room per night. The location is very far from the Algiers city centre as well.
