Landhotel Altes Zollhaus

This is a great hotel for ski weekend get away. The location is perfect as you can go cross-country skiing directly from the door. On your return, you can enjoy a great spa facilities with various saunas and a comfortable resting area. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a limited choice (might be due to covid low activity) but the food was fresh and tasty, especially the winter salad. The rooms are of good size with wooden traditional furniture. Heating could have been set a bit earlier as it was a bit cold when we arrived. It is only 3 hours driving from Berlin and will leave you a feeling of a holiday.

Well well well… I just want to clarify this is not a fake review. I am very disappointed in many instances of my current stay. It’s my 3rd vacation in three years and honestly i have to say the lack of love the lack of guidance from a leadership perspective breaks my heart and soul. I was in the restaurant business for many many years and have a taste and sense of what is required if a bigger group of people stays in your location. The promise of being a yoga hotel is not fulfilled at all. I am missing the healthy nurturing meal options as a vegetarian you would expect in the sense of „Yoga“ instead you are provided with meat platters in various combinations and all other options don’t make you feel happy, nurtured more constipated and heavy. Even though we ordered upfront it took forever till everyone had their meal at the time we confirmed. The kids waited almost an hour. It really sucks paying almost double the price than on all online booking systems 115 vs 67 euros. Questionable due to missing service up to this point. Do yourself a favor compare before you book. My Retreat leader needed to compensate and balance the mishandling she was facing in preparation for the retreat and that should not be her job. In addition a few of us attendees needed to support to prepare everything for the retreat which should have been a service of the „Yoga hotel“ and the staff wasn’t really prepared for a bigger group as we are. No wonder that the staff is frustrated and unhappy you can see, sense, smell it. My deepest compassion with the team. All together I can say the beautiful surrounding of some natural areas that are untouched ease the circumstances to not just leave the place earlier.
