Landhotel Moshammer

You have just got to visit this "little gem" to realise just how good it is. A family run business where the staff are very helpful and pleasant and provide a warm welcome, whether you come from Steyr, Stuttgart or Seattle. The hotel is situated directly on the Ybbstal cycle trail, with a great view of the river Ybbs and the town of Waidhofen from the pleasant restaurant terrace. The breakfast is great, but make sure you don't miss the restaurant. Austria is one of the best countries in Europe for good food, but the Moshammer is at a level above the average. Not only do they source much of their food from local farms, the also have an attention to detail in the kitchen that turns very usual "Hausmannskost" (traditional cooking) into delightful, light to digest culinary dreams. Be warned - you are in for a treat.

The staff were very busy so everything took a while, but they were friendly and the food was fantastic! It's a very pleasant place and I'd definitely recommend it for a good meal.

Service was slow and took too long to acknowledge our group of 4. We waited for 1 hour for someone to take our order and bring our food. Fish was overdone and the veggies were from frozen stock. When complained to the owner he let us injure that it was our own fault for cooking a little after our reserved time and a larger party that arrived shortly before we did. Yet 2 tables next to us who came after us had received their lunch and paid before we even got our order. Will not return to this place.
