Landhotel Wachau

Very nice hotel near Danube river with beautifull view to Melk. Room vere clean and modern. Rich breakfast buffet and good diner. Friedly and experienced staff. Free parking near hotel. Dogs welcome.

Lovely hotel, with very modern rooms. Breakfast was a great continental choice overlooking the Danube river. Manager was less than helpful considering the amount of persons in our party and money spent. He drove us out for dinner but texted the entire way there and back

The room was unbearably hot!!! The hotel advertises that it is air conditioned but in the summer it does not work in the rooms. It is a water pipe system in the ceiling and in the summer they pump cold water through it and in the winter they pump hot water. The reception is not manned 24/7. The room doesn’t have a telephone so it is difficult and inconvenient to get any assistance. When we came back from dinner there was a woman whose room was also very hot and she asked us if we knew how to make the air conditioning work. I went to reception (approximately 830pm) and there was no one there. Somehow the woman who was also staying on our floor had the mobile number of an employee so I called him asking for a fan for the room. He said they didn’t have fans. And if we keep our window closed, the “air conditioning” will work. I explained to him that our windows had been closed since we arrived at the hotel earlier that day and our room was still boiling. So his solution was… we should open our window 😐 The bathroom door did not work properly and wouldn’t close. And the pillows were terrible. It was an uncomfortable and disappointing stay. Unfortunate, because the wedding venue next to the hotel is lovely and the staff there are wonderful.
