Landidyll Hotel Weidenbrück

Lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food, both dinner and breakfast. Good location for exploring.

We arrived having driven through 5 countries in a day ... England France Belgium The Netherlands Germany The hotel is fine, but the greeting and staff were not overly friendly. My wife speaks German but when we arrivev the lady on reception spoke very fast and although my wife was doing her best, and apologised she didn't follow her, the lady repeated at the same speed not slowing down or helping her catch up or understand.. Location is in amongst housing with no real views. Parking is directly opposite the hotel. There is a nice area to sit out and relax and enjoy a drink, or even eat outside. Dinner was fine, but not cheap and £7.50 for a bottle of water was a real rip-off. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. Like many German and French hotels, no coffee making in the rooms. Which is a shame. Breakfast was simply outstanding with more choices than you could ever want. Fresh fruit, cold meats, yoghurt, smoked salmon, scrambled and fried eggs, bacon, German sausages etc, etc. the member of staff at breakfast was totally different to the evening before she was full of smiles and so welcoming. It really just takes a smile.. it makes such a difference.

I really liked this place. The room was small but clean. The bed was comfortable. I also liked the balcony on the back garden where - because it faces an empty hill - you basically have your own private terrace. The only thing missing is a pool/bath in the spa area. Someplace to dip oneself into after the sauna.
