Last evening, I had the distinct pleasure of dining at the quaint Landrefugium Obermüller, typically reserved for guests staying overnight but graciously opened to us, transient diners, by the hospitable management. What unfolded was a culinary escapade that charmingly surpassed our expectations. The affair began with a creatively reimagined Presssack that was a delightful nod to tradition with a modern twist. Following this, a carrot-ginger soup arrived, striking a perfect balance between the earthy sweetness of carrots and the zesty punch of ginger—a symphony of flavors in a bowl. The main course presented a chicken breast schnitzel so tender, it seemed to melt under the fork, accompanied by fries that scoffed at their frozen cousins with superior crunch and freshness. The salad bar was a fresh mosaic of choices, vibrant and inviting. However, the dessert, while ambitious, fell a tad short, feeling just a bit too dry, despite the sauce’s best efforts to elevate it. In contrast, my wife’s cheese platter was a triumph of dairy—a curated selection of international cheeses that could easily star in their own gourmet show, accompanied by artisanal bread and a sublime fig mustard. The evening’s libation, a sprightly Riesling, chosen by the sommelier, was a crisp complement to our meal, enhancing each bite with its lively notes. A minor inconvenience was our premature departure from the terrace at 10 PM due to hotel policies, shifting the remainder of our evening to a somewhat overheated bar. Yet, this did little to detract from the overall joy of the night. Service throughout was impeccable, with the owners themselves ensuring our experience was nothing short of delightful—an increasingly rare personal touch in today’s culinary scene. The price point, especially given the quality experienced, spoke of a deep appreciation for genuine value—a refreshing anomaly in today’s market. In summary, dining at Landrefugium Obermüller was akin to a serendipitous culinary adventure—one that merits a repeat. And next time, perhaps as overnight guests, to fully indulge in all the comforts and culinary delights that Obermüller promises.

We went to Untergriesbach at the end of April and had a very pleasant stay at hotel Obermueller. We didn't make use of the SPA and Wellness center, so we cannot rate it. But we had a mouthwatering dinner. The room was nice and cleaning ok. We suggest to have a small fridge in every room.

We booked via Eurotours and there were many miscommunications. Staff is okay, a few are quite unfriendly and don't expect them to go out of their way for your requests. Wellness area is really nice. Gym was a little dirty and machines don't seem to get cleaned. Food was really good too. Expected better service and that was quite disappointing.
