Lands End

What a find! This vintage hotel is well-kept, delightful staff, clean rooms and breakfast. You cannot beat the location, ocean front with a restaurant just steps away. There’s also easy access to a paved coastal trail so you can take a lovely seaside walk during your stay. It is across the street from a popular scenic view spot, so there were quite a few people coming and going throughout the day, but we were there on a Saturday and it was quiet at night. We saw a huge ship go by on its way to the port. It’s a really cool spot. We will definitely return, and plan to make it annual tradition at the opening of Bluff oyster season.

EXCEPTIONAL! Total luxury at the very bottom of NZ. Outstanding hospitality, so warm and welcoming. Truly magnificent decor and comfort, all the finest finishings. Sunrise over the harbour was breathtaking, and hotel is located at the famous directional sign pole. Oyster Cove restaurant next door was superb. Glorious stay.

The owner was great. The room was very comfortable and breakfast was very good. Spectacular location, literally at the end of the road! I didn’t fully appreciate the significance of the location until afterwards. I’d stay again for sure!
