Stunning castle - staying for 2 nights. Breakfast is included and is a la cart. Good menu so you’ll find something to suit all tastes. Service was fabulous… young guy was so friendly and had a great personality. He also does the castle tour at 10.15am which was really great, and no charge. On-site parking at no cost. 10 mins drive to Hexham town which is really quaint with lots of history and beautiful gardens.

We haven't had an afternoon tea before so decided to give it a go. Langley Castle is a beautiful place and so it seemed like the perfect place to experience something new and a little bit special. Booking is by telephone rather than online and a credit card is required to secure the reservation. A charge is made if you cancel with less than 48 hours notice. You pull up outside and are innediately impressed by your surroundings. A beautifully maintain garden leads up to the house and once inside, you are surrounded by well presented history and decorations in keeping with the building. Afternoon tea comprised sweet and savoury scones, a selection of cakes and salmon, cucumber, egg and ham sandwiches served with tea or coffee. We had afternoon tea at Langley on a Monday and the room where we ate was pleasantly quiet with no more than two other tables served while we were there. The menu for afternoon tea also included other lunch and dinner menues and we will return to try their other offerings. We would recommend afternoon tea at this impressive location and will be back for more!

The rooms and ambience is exceptional. The staff friendly but not helpful. We were verbal directly to our room, left to figure out the nuances of the room. The staircase is grand but no lift for those needing help. Had to ask only to learn there is a service lift when the staff is available to help, which is not often. Expect to bring your luggage to your room and if you're staying within the castle, the higher the room number the more stairs to climb with your luggage, so pack light or get a lower level room. The dinner arrangements are hard to understand and how they expect that to happen is still a mystery. Make sure when checking in to listen and ask questions about food, room service and where to eat. It is not self explanatory, meaning as we expect food service in a hotel to work. The food is excellent.
