I have visited this resort several times per year, solo and as a group. Great location, environment, and staff. I did have an issue with my room on the first night. The manager responded quickly and addressed the matter with myself and the staff. The poolside restaurant did forge their own tip amount on my recipe. I caught this upon checking out when I noticed the price difference. The concierge apologized and removed the false charges immediately after reviewing the physical copy of the actual check. Advice for any overnight stay: wipe down your room thoroughly, yourself. Bring your own bedding or, at least, thoroughly inspect the sheets before lying in them.
Just left this morning, a day early. The air conditioning in our room didn't work, engineering came twice to fix it and couldn't. Front desk was contacted 4 times, no apology. Spa charged $185 for a 50 minute massage that was very sub-standard, just rubbed up and down repeatedly. Room service burgers were awful. Had a salad at the tavern that was ok. Piedmonts steak was very tough, not tender at all. The pools were nice. Cleanliness was good. Overall this place managed to ruin a celebration that I splurged on for myself (new job). At these prices wholly unacceptable. They cater to the corporate events and mini conventions as their primary source of income. Do not recommend for a special occasion or vacation. Edit: for the inconvenience, they didn't charge me for the night we didn't stay (so nice of them 🙄). I complained and they did remove another night.
Don't waste your money. We had a king deluxe booked for 3 days to celebrate my wife's new job. The A/C didn't work, even after multiple visits by the maintenance staff. Their "best" restaurant was average at best. I spilled a little water on the bathroom floor and when I wiped it up, the amount of dirt that came up was incredible. My wife's massage was below par for $180. We couldn't take it any more and left after 2 nights.
