Las Palmeras Affiliated by FERGUS

I have just returned from a 5 night break at the Las Palmeras hotel, and I was very impressed with the hotel. The check in was quick and easy, when I got to my room I was pleased with what I saw, there was a fridge, large TV, balcony and good free WiFi. I stayed on a half board basis and I was again very impressed with the food, there was a good choice of meats and salad I like the show cooking. There was also a good choice of fruit and dessert. There is a pool available on the 4 floor and there are good views from up on the pool level too. Overall I would happily return to this hotel and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good base for a visit to Fuengirola. As there is a beautiful beach only 5 minutes away and plenty of shops and bars in the nearby area. My only downside was that the sunbeds by the pool are not height adjustable, and therefore not much use if you want to read by the pool.

Pros: - Big and clean rooms with nice view. - 24/7 shop just outside. - Good food. - Nice and helpful personnel. - Close to the beaches, trains, buses and restaurants. Cons: - Noisy outside - people gather there after pubs closure, - Ongoing construction works in and outside the hotel, due to that it's even more noisy during the day, no toilets at the pool area, no parking available. - The balconies were not cleaned of bird droppings. - No foldable deckchairs + no mattresses, on the pool area.

The location of the hotel is definitely a plus — it's close to the beach and the city center. However, the overall condition of the hotel needs improvement. The rooms are outdated and cleanliness was below expectations. I was particularly disturbed by the presence of bugs in the hallways, which raised serious concerns about hygiene. The food was average with limited variety, and while some staff members were helpful, overall service felt inattentive. There are several areas that clearly need attention and improvement.
