What can I say about this special place. I actually got married here so it has a special place in my heart. This Hotel is high up the valley...the road to the hotel is rather thrilling. But once you reach the location, it has Beautiful setting and views of the valley... The hotel itself is a colonial structure and the rooms really nicely decorated and large. Four poster beds in some rooms, a gym, a spa, swimming pool and its own chapel. A lovely cosy rest room, really quaint bar and large dinning room with large glass windows to appreciate the views below. Such a lovely location to relax and switch off...read a book and enjoy your surroundings. Highly recommended.
Great views, location and friendly staff. We stayed in a junior suite, which was a decent size and had a great view from up in the mountains. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was fine and very clean but could do with modernising. Free WiFi was poor and not available in the rooms. Slightly disappointed in the food; it wasn't bad, just didn't have any wow factor. Overall a very good place to stay and we really enjoyed it.
The whole hotel was probably a nice place in the 90s as everything seems to be stuck in that era there. The hotel rooms themselves are decent and clean. The pool was nice as it was covered so the slightly chilly wind didn't bite. The spa area that could be reserved was decent as you can find 270° shower, almost Finnish sauna and a cold steam room. You can also find largish hot tub and couple of different type of rooms to relax in, which were all slightly dated. As we had Half-board reservation the dinner was included in our stay, but the dinner main course itself was horrendous every time. You can choose your main from meat / fish / pasta / vegetable dishes which change daily but haven't been changed from the 90s. We tried all of the different mains in each day but every time the food was either cold, filled with pasta cooking water, or simply not what was advertised. The only saving bit was the starter buffet which it self was also straight from the 90s. The saving grace for the hotel is the 'shy' black cat that is living there. The cat might be reserved against new quests but if you let her smell your hand and pet her a bit she will be quite cuddly and probably jump to your lap if you happen to sit next to her while being friendly with her.
