Laya Resort Phuket

Good hotel. Excellent staff. Excellent location. Right on the beach. We were a family of 04 from Pakistan. O2 adults and 02 kids. Great prices for 02 rooms. 15 mins walk from kata night market. Only problem we faced was that we booked for interconnecting rooms but we were given adjacent rooms. Can’t blame then we shud have called checked before hand. They profusely apologised and gave us a fruit basket and card to make up. We adjusted in the adjacent rooms

I absolutely loved this place. For an extended stay it worked great for my budget and was better than most American hotels that cost 3-4x as much. Friendly staff, extremely helpful tour planner(!), a good breakfast, right by the beach, nice pools with one pool bar, and did I mention its feet within the beach! They give you a towel and a beach mat and will hold your key, and the beach has great seats with shade for only $3 US and they watch your bags. Massage places all over, great food, and though still bustling it’s quieter than other places like Patong, which I appreciate. I kept extending my stay here! And go Ants! Xoxo ~Skyler

Beware when traveling with young kids (4 & 7). We booked 2 rooms one month in advance. Staying 5 nights and requested double rooms. We were assigned 2 rooms 50 metres apart when there are plenty of double rooms that are connected. After checking in I requested politely if they could see for a room swap in the next days as we are staying 5 nights. It was refused on the spot without even checking on the system if anything is possible. Reason: hotel is fully booked! But next day I saw new people checking in and of course others checking out. For sure a swap was possible. Our welcome drinks vouchers contained room numbers that were clearly cancelled last minute and new room number written on top, so our rooms assignment have been clearly been changed once but not in our favor.. The front desk people people showed zero empathy and willingness to help even seeing us with young kids. Good job everyone!! You will have new tourist after us anyway, so why to bother. Wish you good luck, maybe one day things won't be that easy for the businesses
