Absolutely phenomenal! We enjoyed our Easter break at Château de Courances and were absolutely amazed by the beauty of the estate. Staying in Le Moulin was a delight-the house is cozy, beautifully decorated with a warm, country-chic atmosphere, and comes with all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. Waking up to the peaceful surroundings and having the Japanese Garden just steps away was truly special. The location is perfect for a day trip to Paris, but we found it hard to leave the tranquility and charm of Courances. We will definitely come back to enjoy more of the stunning park and the magical ambiance of this unique place!
The place is lovely, well appointed room, all very comfortable, good breakfast included. The only small problem we had was finding the entrance gate. The directions are tricky in small winding roads in the town. What3Words much easier, observer.roving.spoke., and trust your satnav! The restaurant next door, Les Hardin de Courances, was good, lovely setting, good food and good, friendly service. It's little shop as well with fresh produce and gifts.
Beautiful venue, a real privilege to be able to stay in the grounds of the château. The accommodation itself was however in need of some attention. No icebox in the fridge was a curious omission in 2023. Ok, so no ice, but it was 34C. There is no proper shower, a lovely reclaimed bath but no way to shower without a flood, which by the look of the floors and the ceiling in the kitchen below, many people had struggled with over a long period of time… The windows in the bedroom would not open, again it was the hottest September day in French history, and there is no AC. The outside “private garden” is a small patch of grass shared with your neighbours and the garden furniture was not usable, the pictures on the website are artfully done and nothing like reality. We left a day early and stayed in a hotel in order to feel clean and refreshed before returning home. We have stayed in an amazing PdH property before but sadly this was a disappointing experience. We did get a a nice bottle of wine as an apology from the house manager, and a good response email from PdH, but of course we would much rather the house had been comfortable and welcoming.
