Les Petits Caprices: Spectacular food and an amazing location! The staff was kind and welcoming, and overall, we had a lovely experience. I had informed them in advance that it was my birthday, and they confirmed they had taken note of it. While our dinner and dessert were delicious, there was no special acknowledgment of the occasion. I had to ask if anything was planned, and they responded that they had noted a birthday but couldn’t find the table. They eventually brought out a small edible with a candle— a nice touch, though a bit late. Unfortunately, it contained nuts, which I’m allergic to, so my brother-in-law ended up eating it. Despite this, the restaurant is excellent, and I would definitely return—just not for a special occasion.

Beautiful property, relaxed elegance, and VERY professional staff. Nice chateau restaurant, comfortable/modern rooms, and a beautiful spa. Our great visit started even before we arrived; the airline had lost my luggage and we were on a road trip in France so we had the airline deliver it to the hotel a few days before we checked-in. The hotel was so professional, tracked the bags and notified us that they received them. Once we arrived we had some foie gras we'd purchased and they brought some delicious bread straight to our room. What amazing service, so professional!!! Thank you! It's a nice mix cuz the spa is rustic, the chateau is a wonderful place to eat and the rooms are very comfortable. Highly recommend for a quick getaway from Bordeaux with all the comforts of a modern hotel.

The setting and restaurants at Domaine de Raba are fantastic, however, our stay (during our honeymoon) was rather overshadowed by a corporate event taking place on the Thursday evening. We'd opted to stay in one of the lodges, which should have felt tranquil amongst the trees, however, the corporate event went on until 2am. We had not been notified of the event, and, given that the party was happening directly opposite our room, when smokers broke offfrom the main party they, at times actually stood on the decking immediately outside our room to smoke- it felt like the party was happening right on top of us. We felt Domaine de Raba should have notified us of this event, on the Thursday when we rang to book we were told that the restaurant was 'fully booked', it was not fully booked, it was booked out for a private corporate event. During the course of the Thursday evening/ Friday morning we rung at midnight and at 2am to ask whether there was any approximate end time to the party, we were given extremely vague answers- hotel guests obviously are not the priority! Staff were lovely and friendly, but, when we spoke to reception, on two separate occasions, each said that they would let their manager know, we never heard back.... We also tried to book a massage on the lake and were told that they were fully booked, yet they were empty all Friday. It might be a slight language barrier, but, we felt we weren't ever given the full picture! We were also charged twice for our dinner on the Friday evening- the waiter mentioned that the payment hadn't gone through the first time, it now seems that this wasn't the case. We have called to try to raise the issue but were told to call back another time & have since emailed but yet to hear a reply. In short, come for the restaurants, but, if you stay be prepared....! Amend- We were given a refund where we were charged twice for dinner, however, I didn’t receive any email reply when I followed up on the offer of another experience.
