We enjoyed our stay in Le Jardin Maore Lodge in Mayotte. We booked Superior family room with Sea View, and the room setup was very elegant and comfortable with all required aminities. The hotel service and the staff were superior too. Special thanks to Ms. Delfin who facilitated our requirements and airport transfer and also assisted in having special dish request from the Chef. One improvement is required from the hotel management for providing WIFI in the room as it is currently available on the reception and the bar only. Hope this matter will be resolved in near future
We spent a wonderful time at the Jardin Maoré in August 2021. Great lodge with very friendly and helpful people and a marvellous location. Great beach (public but that is the way things are in France and we were never bothered but enjoyed not being in a tourist bubble). Great snorkelling with lots of turtles every day and nice house reef. Even a wreck can be reached if you are an experienced freediver (17 m at low tide). The Makis were a geat experience especially for the kids. The Baobab trees are amazing too. We would go back anytime again. Although, we were forced to stay a few extra days at the end due to Covid infection (probably picked up in Paris) of one daughter and my vaccinated wife. The hotel helped us in exemplary manner (thanks especially to english speaking receptionist Julie) through this strenuous time (disease was for us like a cold but the isolation regime and uncertainty when being allowed to fly back, were tough). The dive club also was very professional and all in all a great experience. thanks to Julian and his team.
To the administration. First of all I would recommend you start separate google pages for the services offered at the resort. You’ll never get good reviews with all amenities grouped as one affiliate. Dive shop 5++ star Bar area 4 star Resort 5 star Restaurant 1 star The DIVE SHOP here is fantastic! They were very accommodating to us only speaking English. Always helpful and informative, the boat is nice but the floor needs work as it is slippery and gives off metal splinters. Gear is great. We saw loads of wildlife in the pass and fun to swim with sharks. The BAR AREA had a friendly staff and the snacks looked nice, but when we went to order food they had ran out of what we wanted. The RESORT is beautiful and I love how they incorporated the use of shipping containers into the construction. We didn’t stay a night but it looks great and the beach is well kept, I really like seeing the hard work to conserve the sea turtle nests. Staff all friendly. The RESTAURANT on the other hand… if you are looking at the photo I posted can you imagine paying $20 euro for that? The burger was a large bun with a small amount of very over cooked dry meat and no veggies at all, the fries were soggy and not crisp like they should be. The second meal was supposed to be a chicken Cesar salad with extra anchovies. Holy smokes this is the worst interpretation of a Cesar I’ve ever seen! The size was good but a yogurt like dressing with no flavor whatsoever. I think you have a lot of room for improvement. Separate google pages and a real chef for the restaurant. Good luck and thank you to the dive shop. You guys should be running the whole place!
