Stayed there last month and was quite happy with everything from the hotel and restaurant staff, too the quality of room, food (AM breakfast +) and beverages. We even came back one night late and a group of the staff was sitting at a table after closing. We engaged with them in a 20+ minute conversation about where we were from, their lives and the area. My friend knew a little French, they knew pretty good English and it was like meeting good friends. I found this town and hotel to be my favorite place on my 21 day Euro trip to 10 cities. The shops and artists studios were great to visit. I wish I had an extra suitcase. It had the small town vibe instead of the opposite like Paris. You don't always need to spend the most to get the most.
We had breakfast at this place. Many places does not open early in the morning in Yvoire, so it was a pleasant surprise to us that they offer buffet breakfast to us as non hotel guests. To our surprise the buffet was very well stocked with all kind of meat, cheese, fruit, bread, pastry, coffee, tea, yogurt, juices, sparkling water, and even macaron! And they are all in high quality! We had a wonderful breakfast there before the taking the morning ferry to start a full activie day sight seeing. Giving it is right in front of the ferry terminal, it is very convenient to eat and hop on the ferry after! We highly recommend this hotel restaurant for breakfast!
The hotel is located at the heart of the medieval town, looking onto the marina. We were welcomed by friendly staff that had our key ready to go the minute we arrived. The rooms were spacious, nicely furnished overlooking the marina on the 2nd floor with a little balcony. The beds we large and comfortable with power outlets near the head of the bed on both sides. We didn't try the bar (closed) nor the restaurant. There was an overall run-down feeling. Little details like 2 lights out of 3 were broken in our bathroom, or the door didn't close on its own, no stairs (you had to take the lift each time), missing buttons in the lift, etc. Avoid room 207 as it is located on the end of the hotel overlooking the Pirate restaurant that is very noisy early in the morning (6:30am). Avoid the breakfast. It's way too expensive for what is offered (small buffet, little choice, not much fresh, coffee from a machine). Two of our rooms had an awkard shower in a bath tub, no curtain, and a very short pipe, with nowhere to fix it to. The third room had a walk in shaower. Asthmatic hair dryer (like in many hotels).
