Le Mas du Terme

This delicious find was a surprise after turning off of a country road and driving between a couple of farm houses to find this beauty - a fancy restaurant in the fields outside of Barjac. It seemed like a family-friendly place with multi-generational guests seated at large tables - dogs resting table-side - both inside and out. So it seemed, at least on the evening we were there, to be more of a popular local's place than touristy.

The estate is great - no doubt about that. But it’s never a 4 star. It misses charming employees (also, language barrier: only one receptionist and no one in the restaurant speaks English). The cheaper rooms are noisy & exude that 70s vibe (you don’t want during holidays, obviously). The breakfast is, frankly, too pricey (22€) for what you get (scrambled eggs tasted artificial). The pool looks great but it lacks a shower to prewash and soap next to the toilet. Won’t recommend as a 4 Star.

Idyllic location. Very good food. But rather high priced. I miss the extras for this price. Our superior charm room had a window that was almost completely blocked by plants, so almost no view on the beautiful setting outside. The tables in the restaurant are too close to each other. With a lower price I would give 4 or even 5 stars.
