• Good (and traditional) hotel near the airport.
It’s a very large place, with one complex that feels more like a resort, and another that seems more business. A few years ago, the hotel underwent renovations, and you can clearly see the contrast between the older (more rustic) areas and the modern updates, which I liked! • The staff (especially Keiko from Japan) were very attentive and welcoming, offering great service. Before we left, we asked them to recharge our car. They remembered and fully charged it, a simple but thoughtful gesture that made a difference. • Our room was very spacious, and the bathroom as well. Both were modern, clean, and really nice. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh, sweet fruits, natural juices, coffee, various breads, and more! Huge complex, 5 swimming pools. Careful of the hotel tiers. The cheapest tier does not include pool access. You'll get a better deal with a tier that includes pool and lounge access (lounge offers breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks- which is good enough to cover your meals all day). Royal club has newer rooms- if you're a Marriott member you'll likely get upgraded during low season. We got a really good deal in the summer. There are free shuttles to the city and airport- but be careful they may not be on time. The Deira city shuttle is a very long circuit, so unless you have time to waste, just get a taxi instead. Pool bars are nice they also serve food. Overall a positive experience and the staff are generally patient and helpful. Just watch out on the extra charges if you paid for the cheapest room. Also the rooms in the main building aren't that bad!

This hotel is EXCELLENT for layovers etc. Service from the staff is excellent and the rooms are very cosy and comfortable. However, the room service is priced too much for its average qualities and the plates had a certain smell. Only dish I would recommend at most is the egg stir fried noodles with chicken (dish name in menu). I would otherwise get delivery. Only 4 min drive from terminal 1. I needed to keep ice packs in the hotel freezer to travel with injections, the receptionist quickly gave me a carry on ticket to refer to when checking out. Especially thanks to Bavli for treating us with water while checking in, handling our luggage with care, being outgoing, and explaining the room amenities.
