We love this hotel! We stayed here a couple of times, sometimes for business, sometimes for a couple days off, this time with family. The staff is always great and friendly, oftentimes you get a rougher service when you arrive with the family…not here! The staff was incredibly friendly, brought up some candy for the kids while asking if it’s ok before. The rooms are still nice although some could probably have a little makeover here and there, bit overall still good. We had some „issues“ and the management was very happy to help and honestly thankful for constructive feedback. Our highlight is always the breakfast with the amazing view and a great choice of high quality fresh food, the staff up there is even more amazing then the hotel staff. Also the heritage bar is great for ending the day, staff here is quite knowledgeable about the cocktails, some room for improvement on the wine site. We will always come back while visiting Hamburg!
I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. The location is a definite plus right on the lake and about a 10-minute walk from the train station. The building itself looks modern from the outside with its gray and green floors, which gives a fresh first impression. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, though it did feel a bit dated. Bed wasn’t that great, The air conditioning wasn’t very effective, but the soundproof windows were a welcome feature, especially given the traffic noise from the street out front. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the positive experience. However, it’s worth noting that no assistance was offered with luggage, which might be a drawback for some travelers. Breakfast was decent with a fair selection, though there’s room for improvement and unfortunately, the coffee was quite disappointing. On the bright side, there are plenty of great cafes and restaurants just a 10-minute walk away, which helps make up for it. All in all, a good stay with some minor inconveniences. Would recommend for the location and value, but with a few expectations managed.
The room was big, with daily room service. Cozy pool area, with a decently large pool, fine sauna, and steamroom, well kept in general, but it had some flaws. You were only able to watch local channels and YouTube on the TV, When you touched the glass door to toilet it vibrated and made a loud sound for a couple of seconds. The bathroom instalment was not very optimal, and made the floor by the toilet wet after use and made it slippery. The light in the closet was flickering throughout the whole stay (was not reported to staff) The breakfast was unacceptably pricy if you had not included it in the price. We paid €44 per person for a buffet, that was not anything out of the usual. The waiters were very nice and understood English. However not all of the maintenance staff understood basic English and it made it somewhat difficult to communicate problems. One time someone had left a plaster in the pool, and we tried to tell the staff, but they refused to deal with it or get someone that would. And at the end of the stay, when we had checked out, we had them hold some of our luggage until we left, and they somehow got all the luggage mixed up. The staff was very nice, polite and helpful, except for those two incidents. Very beautiful view from the rooms facing the water and not much noice pollution. It was very kind of them to let us use the pool and spa area after check-out.
