Le Passage Cairo Hotel & Casino

The hotel is a great choice if you want to stay close to the airport, especially for early flights or transit stays. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the beds are comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. Service is professional, and the reception staff are friendly. The hotel offers plenty of facilities, including a swimming pool, restaurants, and airport shuttle service. The buffet has a good variety of food, although prices are a bit higher than hotels outside the airport, which is understandable given the location. They offered us snacks and shuttle to airport but none of these were served to us!! If comfort and proximity to the airport are your priorities, Le Passage is an excellent option.

Located very close to the airport so this is a perfect location to stay at if you have long lay overs. Very big and spacious to have a walk around. Pools and kids play area as well as photo booth area. I must say the hygiene of the rooms are questionable. I believe the bed I had was not freshly changed and noticed alot of what seemed like crumbs in the sheets?. Kettle was not working,not sure if it was the socket. There was a lamp by the bed that upon switching on actually sparked and couldn't not switch on so was very cautious using any of the sockets. My bathroom lights at some point were not switching on so had to use my phones torch to shower. Buffet dinner was very nice I'll admit. Very tasty food and well priced. A few staff were a tad bit rude but for the better part most were welcoming.

The room was relatively clean and it is convenient to be close to the airport. However it was very uncomfortable to get to from the terminal, walking in dirty streets with speeding cars and exhaust fumes. The staff are not discrete and keep talking to each other in the corridors and banging cleaning materials around. You hear everything they do even if they don’t speak loudly, and they hear you; there is almost no soundproofing. It was like staying in someone’s house with curtains not doors. I have never seen a cleaning staff talk so much, actually. There is no do not disturb button so the staff knock on your door and don’t understand when you speak English. I had to just yell “No” so they would understand not to barge into the room. Finally the refrigerator makes the whole enclosure it is in vibrate and that makes the wall vibrate with noise all night long. The shower drain was broken and it did not drain properly with stagnant water collecting. The shampoo and shower gel were of the lowest quality you can find anywhere. Overall I do not recommend this hotel because of the noise, lack of privacy, average room quality and difficult access.
